Our Roots
The banyan tree is known for its deep root system, its long-life span and its ability to withstand extreme weather conditions. Starting from a small seed, the banyan tree takes form by compounding on other plant life. Over time, its structure forms multiple large trunks which bear fruit. A banyan tree’s healthy leaf canopy provides shade and protection from the elements. Much like the banyan tree, Banyan Capital Management’s roots are strong, deep, and our investment methodology is well defined. We cultivate our own investment ideas through in-house research which gives us a strong understanding of the companies in which we invest. Over time our disciplined approach attempts to withstand market uncertainty for our Members.
Founded in 1987, Banyan Capital is an investment counseling firm whose goal is to “Build Permanent Wealth” for its Members by applying our disciplined fundamentalist approach to investing. Analyzing businesses is our core strength; we don’t confuse our strengths with the strengths of other financial professionals. Banyan Capital concentrates solely on satisfying the investment needs of our Members while delivering an excellent Member experience.

Our Team
Banyan Capital Management is an investment counseling firm founded by Gary L. Watkins in 1987. Banyan Capital serves the investment needs of individuals, families, and institutions and we understand that each Member has unique needs and goals for the future. Each of our staff bring a unique skill set to the table. We are constantly developing and honing our skills through continuing education and tracking current trends to stay ahead of the competition.
